JOINT TERRITORIAL ARMY AS AN OFFICER
Applications are invited from gainfully employed young citizens for an opportunity of donning the uniform and serving the nation as Territorial Army Officers, based on the concept of enabling motivated young citizens to serve in a military environment without having to sacrifice their primary
professions. You can serve the nation in two capacities – as a civilian and as a soldier. No other option allows you such an expanse of experiences.
1. TOTAL NUMBER OF VACANCY:
(a) Male - 12 (b) Female – 01
Note: Vacancies are subject to change as per organizational requirement.
2. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY:
(a) Nationality: Only citizens of India (male and female).
(b) Age Limits: 18 to 42 years as on last day of filing of application i.e. 30 Jul 2022.
(c) Educational Qualifications: Graduate from any recognized university.
(d) Physical Standards: A candidate must be physically and medically fit in all respects.
(e) Employment: Gainfully Employed.
Note: Serving member of the Regular Army/ Navy/ Air Force/ Police/ GREF/ Para Military and like forces are not eligible.
3. DATE OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION: 25 SEP 2022
4. The date of holding the examination as mentioned above is liable to be changed at the discretion of the competent authority.
5. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS: The Online Registration and Applications can be filed from 01 JUL to 30 JUL 2022 till 11.59 PM after
which the link will be disabled.
6. CENTRES OF EXAMINATION: The Examination will be held at the following Centres:
JAIPUR, PUNE, BENGALURU, HYDERABAD,
NAGPUR, BELGAUM, COIMBATORE, KOLKATA,
GUWAHATI, BENGDUBI, DIMAPUR, DELHI,
CHANDIGARH, JALANDHAR, PATHANKOT, AMBALA, HISAR, LUCKNOW, BHUBANESHWAR, AGRA, ALLAHABAD, DEHRADUN, UDHAMPUR, SRINAGAR, NAGROTA.
Note: Candidates are required to give three options of exam centres. As per availability of exam centres viz-a-viz number of
candidates, TA Directorate has the right to allot any centre out of the three options.
7. STANDARD AND SYLLABUS OF THE EXAMINATION:
PAPER- I
SUBJECT: (a) Part - 1 Reasoning (b) Part - 2 Elementary Mathematics.
Time Allotted: 2 hours in each Part (Both Part-1 and Part-2)
Numbersof Questions : Part-1 =50 and Part-2 =50
Marks : 50+50= 100 Total
PAPER- II
SUBJECTS: (a) Part - 1 General Knowledge 2 hrs
(b) Part - 2 English
Time Allotted: 2 hours in each Part (Both Part-1 and Part-2)
Numbersof Questions : Part-1 =50 and Part-2 =50
Marks : 50+50= 100 Total.
TYPE OF EXAM:
Objective (OMR Answer Sheet will be used).
QUALIFYING MARKS:
Minimum 40% marks in each part of the paper separately and overall average of 50%
PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS:
Candidates should note that there will be penalty of 0.33 number for wrong answers (Negative Marking) marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
(a) Candidates whose application forms are found correct will be allowed to appear in written exam followed by interview (only if passed in written exam) by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
(b) Successful candidates will further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.
EMBODIMENT FOR TRAINING:
(a) One month basic training in the first year of commission.
(b) Two months annual training camp every year including the first year.
(c) Post Commission Training (03 months) / Pre Commission Training (06 months) as applicable at that time.
